Salty Samurai Studios' own Sheldon Steere has been talking with Akeena Solar, Inc. about producing commercials for their new line of Andalay AC Solar Panels. Nothing concrete has been formed yet, but there are talks of doing a few commercials and possibly a longer video for trade show presentations. Storyboarding will begin early 2010 after the installation rush, and filming will take place so that the films can be done before the summer season of trade shows, seminars, and solar parties.
If you don't know what Andalay AC Solar Panels are, you should look into them, they are the new panel being produced by Akeena Solar, Inc. With an ordinary solar panel, you have to worry about inverters, racking, all sorts of annoying cabling, complicated roof mounting, AC and DC disconnect switches, etc, whereas with Andalay AC Panels, all of the racking, mounting, inverter, and switches are integrated into the panel. This is the future of solar panels, today, because it literally makes Solar Panels something you could buy in a supermarket with the right tools. Up until recently solar panels were a complicated venture encompassing tons of paperwork, installation and labor costs, materials, city building and electrical permits, fire code regulations, etc, whereas Andalay Solar is trying to get away from all that, and make it something you can buy and install just like your washing machine or an air conditioner. That's why this product is so innovative, and why Salty Samurai Studios is excited to be able to work with them and promote this exciting new product.
